Mt-DNA Pedigree -Remmen
My match got me back to their farthest back Mt-DNA ancestor, Gertrude Ferguson.
This would be my match’s Grandmother (2nd Generation). I was able to extend the lineage back a couple generations and merge it with the Remmen Pedigree where Lucy (1783-1849) and Abigail Goff (1776-1836) were sisters, daughter of Daniel C Goff and Lucy Davis.
There is quite a bit that needs to be added to this profile. If you see a problem let me know. If you have information on this profile please let me know. Once I have each of my match’s profiles online I will be coming back to proof, add and correct my information. That seems to come from the records I was using and infusing the information into the profile. I will sort that out when I update the profile.
I’m not real sure where this match lives today but some of their ancestors lived as far west as Iowa and Nebraska. Since their ancestry is from New England their family can be shown to have traveled a typical migratory path west from New England.
Information on my matches family tree got me started and from there I began researching United States Censuses, Findagrave.com, Ancestry and family trees of others who may descend from the match’s ancestors.
I am not sure on which generation I actually began searching and I am not going to identify anyone still living, so, some of the earliest generations are marked “Private”.

Lucy Davis was born 1754 in Coventry, Kent County, Rhode Island and died in 1820 in Licking, Licking County, Ohio. She was the daughter of Jane (Alloway) and Benjamin Davis 1730-1825.
Lucy Davis married 8 July 1775 in Clarendon, Rutland County, Vermont to Daniel C. Goff 1854-1816 son of Ruth (Bailey) (1729-1771) and Abner Goff (1721-1755).
In this generation, two of my Mt-DNA matches merge.
Abigail Goff (of the Husk pedigree) and Lucy Goff (of the Remmen Pedigree) were sisters. They were daughters of Lucy Davis 1754-after 1820 and Daniel Goff 1754-1816 Licking County, Ohio.
Children of Lucy Davis and Daniel C. Goff were:

Abner Goff 4 December 1782 at Clarendon, Rutland County, Vermont-died 15 March 1857 St. Louisville, Licking County, Ohio
Lucy Goff- See Generation 6)
Eunice Goff 22 December 1787 Clarendon, Rutland County, Vermont-died 2 September 1840 at Batavia, Clermont County, Ohio (Have another date of her death 20 August 1814) Married Wilcox?
Emile Goff 20 December 1787- died 27 July 1849 at Crown Point, Essex County, New York
Generation 8)
Jane (Alloway, also found as Callaway) (no dates or places noted) married Benjamin Davis 1730-1825. Benjamin was reported as being born in Avening Gloucester and supposedly died in Rowan County, North Carolina.
(Note: While I am (genealogically) happy to see Benjamin Davis died in North Carolina I feel skeptical and this needs looking into. Davis is a very common surname and if it were true, he would likely have followed a daughter to North Carolina and she might be “how” the New England and my own North Carolina lines might merge. Also, I was not finding much or anything on the Alloway or Callaway lines.
As I said, this line I also am not real sure about Lucy Davis being a Davis
